From the moment I watched Sasha on Season 9 of RuPaul's Drag Race, I was fascinated by her creativity, art, and performances. She truly changed me, as a person and as an artist. Every time I see something of hers, I feel inspired to create — whether it be drawings, designs, or anything, really.
It was with this feeling that I started illustrating Sasha. One of her pictures on Instagram gave me the idea of the drawing, so I began the initial sketches. I always loved Sasha's mug, and as it's such an important part of her look, I took extra time to get it just right. These first steps and also the final linework were made in Illustrator, and then proceeded to add the painting and textures to finish the piece in Photoshop.
